University Profile

Liverpool Hope University

Liverpool Hope University is constantly building on its history which dates from the mid 19th century, when it established separate pioneering teacher education colleges for women in Warrington and in Liverpool. Just over a century later, a third college opened in Liverpool and was the first Catholic training college for both women and men. In 1980 these three institutions merged to become the Liverpool Institute of Higher Education. In 1995, this came to be known as Liverpool Hope University, the only fully ecumenical higher education in the UK.

Today, more than 7,000 students study at Hope Park (a 30-acre landscaped campus in Childwall), Hope at Everton (a second major campus opened in 1999), and Network of Hope locations for University of Liverpool degrees and certificates.
