The University of Cambridge is one of the oldest universities in the world and one of the largest in the United Kingdom. In 2009 the University of Cambridge will be celebrating its 800th anniversary, over this period its contribution to the world has ranged from the discovery of the mechanism of blood circulation to the structures of DNA, from the great philosophers of the early 15th century, to the groundbreaking work of its many Nobel Prize winners.
